Vidyavardhini’s College of Engineering was established in the year 1994.
History :
Vidyavardhini society was established as a registered society in 1970 by late Padmashri Bhausaheb Vartak for the noble cause of education in rural areas of Virar & Vasai. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai for the four year degree program offering the degree of Bachelor of Engineering.

The college can be easily reached from Vasai Station. It is just 5 – 7 mins of walking distance from Vasai station.

Admissions :
Vidyavardhini’s Engineering College has no admission seats reserved for any community. Hence the admission process for seats are only through CAP Rounds based on MH – CET Score.
Undergraduate Admissions – ( Bachelor of Engineering - B.E. ) :
Vartak Engineering college admits students for undergraduate programs based on their scores in the MH-CET (Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test).

Student Socities @ Vartak College :
The Students’ Council is the apex student body in Vartak college of engineering, mainly responsible for organizing various student related activities and extracurricular activities in the college. Headed by the General Secretary, it has four main wings viz. Cultural Committee, Sports Committee, Magazine Committee and Idea group, to take care of different activities.

Cultural Committee -
Cultural Committee organize various cultural events in the college which include F.E. ( First Year Engineering ) Orientation Program, Fresher’s Party, Teachers’ Day celebration, Engineers’ Day celebration, Garba & Dandiya celebration, various college days and the B.E. ( Bachelor of Engineering ) Farewell Party, various seminars for higher studies and career guidance.

The College is located on the extensive campus of Vidyavardhini, spread over an area of about 12.27 acres

Magazine :
1) Vartak College of Engineering publishes the annual college magazine ‘Vista’,
2) Newsletter ‘Tech Talk’ and also looks after the wall magazine.
Library :
The college central library was established in 1994, simultaneously with the inception of the college.
The total collection of library books is 19098 in a short span of 15 years. The library has 4 computer terminals. The library collection of CD’s is more than 500.
The library facilities are availed daily on an average by 25 staff members and 150 students. Almost 250 books are lent daily. The students are allowed to borrow at most 2 books at a time for a week.
Almost all the Inspection Committees and other college staff on their visits to the library have complimented Vidyavardhini’s Engineering College on the excellent collection of rare and many books. The reference books  on mathematics have always come in for very special mention.
Central Library timings are 9.00 am to 8.00 pm, during exam period normally it closes at 6.00
Festivals / College Events :
1) 'ZEAL' - ZEAL is the inter-college Annual Cultural Festival of Vidyavardhini’s Vartak Engineering college organized by various student bodies under Students’ Council for 3 days in the even semester. 45 events were categorized as performing arts, fine arts, Literary, informals saw 3000 students of 15 different colleges participating.

VCET is a popular hunting ground for recruiters from a number of industry majors such as Infosys, TCS , Wipro, Mahindra & Mahindra, I-flex solutions, Siecraft , etc.
