The Ramrao Adik Institue of Technology since its inception in 1983 is a part of the D Y Patil Educational Academy. The college was founded in CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai & later moved to Nerul.
History :
D.Y. Patil group has recognized itself over the last two decades as one of India's primary private education provider. Being one of the pioneers in private education, today the group has more than 100 institutions. The group has diversified in to many areas associated to Engineering, Medicine like Pharma research and production, Health care, Hospitality, Bio-Tech, Management and others.

It is located in the D.Y. Patil Vidyanagari campus at Nerul, close to the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway.
The main campus is located in Nerul, along the Sion Panvel Highway. The institute is reachable by local train, State Transport buses, BEST and NMMT. Most students are able to reach the campus within 30 minutes to one hour from any point in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane.

Admissions :
Ramrao Adik College of Engineering has no admission seats reserved for any community. The admission process for seats is only through CAP Rounds based on MH – CET Score.
1) Undergraduate Admissions – ( Bachelor of Engineering - B.E. ) :
Ramrao Adik Engineering Collegeadmits students for undergraduate programs based on their scores in the MH-CET ( Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test ).
2) Postgraduate Admissions – ( Master of Engineering - M.E. ) :
Admissions for postgraduate programs are through GATE Score (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or sponsorship. RAIT offers M.E. courses in Computer Engineering, & Electronics & Tele - Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering & I.T. ( Information Technology ) with Intake capacity of 108 students altogether. The college has perhaps the highest number of seats for B.E. & M.E. Courses in Mumbai University.

College Campus :
RAIT is located in D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, in Nerul, on a huge campus. The 40 acre campus houses some famous colleges : The Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital, the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, the Colleges of Law, Architecture, Occupational and Physiotherapy, and the Ayurveda College and Hospital.
The college is housed in a spacious building occupying nearly 120,000 square feet area. The building is surrounded by the spectacular view of the silky lawns and the green gardens in the well maintained sprawling campus. The campus houses a huge international sports stadium ( D.Y. Patil stadium ).
The campus has a 200-bed hostel for girls. There are three cafeterias on the campus, run by the institute's catering school. The campus also houses a 1,000 seat A/C auditorium.

Festivals / College Events :
Culture and Events
1) 'Horizon' - Horizon is RAIT's most important cultural festival. A three day event, horizon has been ranked among the top 10 festivals in India and the finest in Navi Mumbai.
Horizon organize a fashion show the first night. One of the major events in the festival is the amateur rock band war ( Unchained ). The other events in Horizon are literary events and film-making.
2) 'Techmate ( by CSI )' - The Computer Society of India (CSI – RAIT) is a student society which organizes college's technical events. 'Techmate' and 'Techknow' in odd and even semester correspondingly. CSI-RAIT started with its own magazine 'COZINE', in 2009.
3) 'Whizion and 360 Degrees (by IEEE)' - IEEE-RAIT organizes the annual technical event, Whizion, during August and September. Events include three levels of robotics competitions, presentations of research papers, hardware/software contests, technical quizzes and other events.
IEEE-RAIT organizes 360 Degrees in February. 360 degrees is the annual technical inter-college festival hosted by five engineering colleges namely, RAIT, DJ Sanghvi, VESIT, KJ Somaiya and MHSSCoE.
IEEE-RAIT is one of the most popular technical organization in Mumbai.
4) 'Niyantran' - ISA-RAIT organizes this technical event in February.
5) 'Kalaraag' - Kalaraag manages the annual open state-level contest in September and the intercollege theatre competition in January. Besides theater competitions, the group organizes Nrutyavishkar (folk-dancing competitions) in month of September.
Campus Placements :
It has the highest number of campus recruitments in the Mumbai region excluding IIT. Recent years have seen nearly 80% of our students placed in reputed MNCs at the highest starting salaries.
