History :
Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan’s College of Engineering is a honor to the late Shri Vasantdada Patil, the Sahakar Maharshi and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Former deputy Prime Minister Yeshwantrao Chavan, laid the foundation of the college.
The only college in Mumbai University to offer Marine Engineering course.

Admissions :
Vasantdada Patil College of Engineering has no admission seats reserved for the any community. The admission process for seats is through CAP Rounds based on MH – CET Score.
1) Undergraduate Admissions – ( Bachelor of Engineering - B.E. ) :
V. D. Patil admits students for undergraduate programs based on their scores in the MH-CET ( Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test ).
2) Postgraduate Admissions – ( Master of Engineering - M.E. ) :
Admissions for postgraduate programs are through GATE Score (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or sponsorship. V.D. Patil offers M.E. courses in Computer Engineering, & Electronics & Tele - Communication Engineeringwith Intake capacity of 24 students for each branch.
