Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering, located near Kopar Khairanewas established in the year 1994. Over the years the college has gained recognition in the engineering fields by producing merit rankers each year.
History :
Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering is named after the Indian freedom fighter and social reformer, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, who was respectfully addressed as Lokmanya Tilak.
LT holds a 'parents teachers meet' after mid-term exams where a student's academic performance is reviewed.

Admissions :
Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineeringhas 50% admission seats reserved for the Hindi Speaking Community. The admission process for other seats is through CAP Rounds based on MH – CET Score.
1) Undergraduate Admissions – ( Bachelor of Engineering - B.E. ) :
Lokmanya Tilak Engineering College admits students for undergraduate programs based on their scores in the MH-CET ( Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test ).
2) Postgraduate Admissions - Master of Engineering ( M. E. ) :
Admissions for postgraduate programs are through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or sponsorship. LTCE offers Masters degree in Computer Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering.
3) Master in Computer Application ( M.C.A. ) Admissions :
Master of Computer Application admissions are based on the scores in the MAH-MCA-CET (Maharashtra State MCA Common Entrance Test). LTCE started offering MCA course from 2008.

College Campus :
The college campus consists of the three buildings. The oldest building is not used. Lectures are carried out in the new building for all of the engineering branches. The 'Lokmanya Tilak Institute of Architecture & Design Studies' is also located in the new building.
A seminar hall is located on the fourth floor, which is used for guest seminars, academic conferences and other cultural activities.
College Fees :
Rs. 90,000 per year.
Library :
The library occupies one half of the entire fifth floor of the new building. It is well stocked with all the significant books, guides, and project manuals as well as technical magazines, etc.
Festivals / College Events :
Initially, five technical festivals were held every year till 2007 — Surge (Elec.), Ethos (Comp.), Zigma (ELEX), Mechtrix (MECH) and Threshold (EXTC). The technical festivals were then combined to form Tech-Zephyr; the name is derived from Zephyr, the college's cultural festival. The technical festival consists of challenging robotics competitions, technical paper presentations, technical seminars, workshops and intelligence quizzes.
Zephyr is the only cultural festival under Mumbai University to apply for and obtained a trademark. Zephyr is the only known cultural festival in India which has taken up the environmental cause of global warming.
Zephyr is held during the summer term, which attracts students from engineering colleges all over Navi Mumbai to participate. The most notable events are the 'War of Bands', 'dance competitions', 'Dramatics', 'Fashion Shows', 'singing competitions', etc.

Some of the major recruiters of LTCE are:
Infosys, L & T Infotech, TCS, Wipro, Reliance, Godrej, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Hexaware , L & T, SyntelMastek, Patni Computers , Polaris, Capgemini, Siemens & Godrej.
Over the years, the number of students being placed in reputed companies has shown an increasing upward trend. The Training & Placement cell provides training to students regarding competitive tests, group discussions and technical interviews.
Most of the eligible crowd easily gets placed. Avg. salary is Rs. 2.5 lakh per year.
