Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology, located near Vashi was established by Agnel Charitiesin the year 1994. It is popularly known as the Fr. Agnel's Engineering College, Vashi or ' Agnel Polytechnic '.
History :
The college is a part of the Father Agnel Ashram's family of educational institutions spread across India. The Agnel Ashram Family Movement originated way back in 1957 in Mumbai.
FCRIT is a private, un-aided, non-minority, non-autonomous institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai.
The institute shares it name with many other educational institutions founded by the Agnel Ashram, most notably the Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering( FCRCE ), located at Bandra.

Admissions :
Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Engineering College Vashihas no admission seats reserved for the Catholic Christian Community. The admission process for seats is through CAP Rounds based on MH – CET Score.
1) Undergraduate Admissions – ( Bachelor of Engineering - B.E. ) :
Fr. Agnel Institute of Technology, a Degree Engineering College admits students for undergraduate programs based on their scores in the MH-CET ( Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test ).
2) Postgraduate Admissions – ( Master of Engineering - M.E. ) :
Admissions for postgraduate programs are through GATE Score (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or sponsorship. FCRIT offers M.E. courses in Electronics & Tele - Communication Engineering, Power Electronics and Power System & Machine Designwith Intake capacity of 18 students for each branch.

College Campus :
FCRIT is housed in a four-storied building, a part of the academic block within the Agnel Technical Education Complex. It is one of the few campuses to boast of a WiFi network on campus and a Wireless Computer Laboratory. Other amenities available to the FCRIT students and faculty include cafetaria, football ground, basketball court, gymnasium, medical centre and the hostel facilities housed in the twin 7 storied hostel buildings in the campus.
The institute shares its campus with the Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Management Studies, the Agnel Polytechnic, and the Industrial Training Institute.
An auditorium with a capacity of 2500 and an indoor sports facility (Maithreyi Hall) is proposed to come up opposite the academic block.
For the outdoor sports facilities, the campus has international sized, well maintained open air courts and grounds. These grounds cover a total area of about seven and a half acres of land and are used for football, hockey, volleyball and basketball.
A multi utility high tech gymnasium has been set up to encourage physical fitness among the students.
In recent times, swimming pool has been added to the list of sporting facilities provided by the institute.
“Meditation Centre” is located at the Balbhavan ground floor. It has an area of 1570 sq. feet with centralized air conditioning and the right ambience for meditation and prayer meets.

Library :
Central Library : It is the first library to have computerized Library Resources Management System in Navi Mumbai.
It is located at the centre of the main building of Agnel Technical Education Complex occupying the area of 750 sq. mtr. divided into two floors. A separate resource centre is located on the fourth floor.
The Library is a hub of academic activities and remains open for 15 hrs. a day. It has embarked in a planned manner for its growth, development and modernization in the areas of internet, digitalization, resources sharing, website development, online library services, library staff training & development and library infrastructure development.
The Library has a up to date collection of print as well as non-print resources that includes: books over 33000 Volumes, 132 National and International Journals, 1273 Bound Volumes of Journals along with Non-Print media CD-ROMs, DVDs, Floppies, Conferences & Seminars proceedings, Synopsis and Project Reports.
Festivals / College Events :
1) FCRIT holds a 3 day annual inter college festival in the even semester called 'η-Max CRITeria'. η-Max comprises a series of technical and non technical workshops.
2) 'FACES' – Intra college cultural and sports festival held in the odd semesters.
Campus Placements :
The placement program starts in the month of June or July every year and students who have finished three years of the four year course with no live k.t. are eligible to register. The program extends more than a year and runs through the final year of the course for a batch of students.
The institute claims to have a nearly 100% conversion ratio of eligible students to company offers. The placement activities are looked after by faculty placement officers and student coordinators. The central placement cell is located in the administrative block, south of the reception.
