Xavier Institute of Engineeringis a part of an international network of Jesuit Educational Institutions which includes 38 Universities & 3413 educational institutions in 68 countries. Xavier Institute Of Engineering was established at Mahim to give minority Roman Catholic students in India technical education.
The college is a part of the same Management which includes the very famous St. Xavier's College, Dhobi Talao Mumbai.

XIE provides the world class infrastructure. There are separate laboratories for each subject and for each field. The college has a huge workshop situated on the ground floor. There are three separate staff rooms for the faculty.
A big open ground in the middle of the campus for various outdoor activities. The Training & Placement Office has separate rooms for Group Discussion, Interviews, Pre Placement Talks.

Magazine :
The annual magazine of XIE is known as 'CONNEXIEON' ( pronounced as connection ).
Festivals / College Events :
1) 'Spandan' - It is an annual intra college cultural festival of XIE, held in the month of February. The festival includes competitions in singing, dancing, gaming, fashion show, elocution, stage plays and various other events.
2) 'Transmission' - The technical festivalof the college. The festival includes a variety of avenues like robotics, LAN Games, Robotics, Android workshops, Software Programming contests. The major show up of the tech fest is the rock show where a range of rock bands are invited to play live for the college students.
Campus Placements :
The companies visiting the college campus for placements are : Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, L&T Infotech, Panasonic, iGATE, Patni, Tech Mahindra, MAQ Computers, Quinox, Godrej Infotech, Persistent.
The placement is average and just 50 % of the students are placed.

Opinion / Review :
It’s good option if you don’t want to travel very far. The college canteen is very poor and crowd is just an average. Attendance is very strict.
